Trying to figure out the best gift to give this year? Never know what the person wants? Well, we are here to tell you that the answer lies in numerology! See what the receiver’s birthdate reveals about what they want.

First you need to calculate the birth date to a single digit. To calculate this number, you take the month and day the recipient was born and add the numbers until they add up to 1 through 9. For example, if you were born on December 25th you’re number would be 1 (1+2+2+5=10 1+0=1), or if you were born on the March 29th you’re number is 2 (3+2+9=14; 1+4=5).

Once this number is calculated, look below and you will find what gift the recipient is best suited for:

1 — This person is a bit eccentric, a loner, a leader, and independent. This person is a strong individual and revels in that. This one is self-focused and would enjoy a creative, engaging gift which allows her to be proud of the finished product.

So any DIY project, or tools or materials to complete a task (hand tools, art supplies, pots or pans, cookie cutters, “How-To” books etc.) is a favorite for this person. They enjoy taking on projects that they can complete. This person enjoys a fresh start to begin something they have not done before. Think new language programs, beer making kits, drones, or something that can be done independently.

2 — This person likes to share, play with others, cooperate and create harmony and balance. They are big into relationships and usually have a heart of gold. They enjoy helping others, volunteering and organizing groups for almost any function or event. They are great listeners but sometimes can get caught up in the drama.

This person would love any party-type item, including glassware, stemware, serving plates, booze, party games. Gift certificates to go to movies or dinners where they can bring friends or lovers is always a hit. A “2” child would enjoy a Nintendo with dual game controllers, hockey skates, board games, karaoke machines. Basically anything that allows them to share with others.

3 — This is a very spiritual being. They believe in equality yet they are quick to speak their mind. They like to see things as they are, and seek out the truth. They are inquisitive yet playful. They are optimistic, creative and have an active imagination. They like to ask questions and seek answers. They don’t like meaningless presents, but those that have sentiment behind it.

This person would love puzzles, poetry books, or tickets to the theatre. Perfume, soaps, or any handmade item makes them happy. They would love anything that creates community or is related to charity, animal rights, or empowering individuals. They would love journals, movies, CDs, candles or plants. You could splurge and surprise them with surprise vacations, new cars. The proverbial car wrapped in a bow would certainly score points.

4 — This is a very stable, balanced person who believes in justice for all. They are hard-working, serious and practical beings. They like to grow, move and learn with an activity or hobby. “4” people like roots and functionality.

Gift cards for practical items (i.e. if they are fixing their home, a Home Depot or Lowes gift card would fit nicely, or if they are online shoppers, possibly an Amazon gift card.) They are great lovers of sweaters, pajamas, socks, etc. anything that they would have to buy themselves, but you buy for them, is greatly appreciated. Think flowers or plants or hobbies. Also good are: toiletries, soaps, perfumes, gas gift cards, automobile items. Kids might like to receive bikes, trucks, dolls. Computers, printers, or any other practical electronic items would make you a favorite.

5 — This is an individual who enjoys change, arguing their point, the facts and loves progressive thinking. They love to challenge logic and reality, with others as well as themselves. They are more disruptive than most others, and enjoy the conflict of the Fastlane. Moving ahead with challenges fascinates a “5”.

Great gifts are: Brain puzzles, Trivia books, Sudoku, thought-provoking books, Cards Against Humanity, Poem anthologies. Books that are biographical or scientific. Videos of science, self-help, yoga, mindfulness. These children would love science project kits, fire engines, police cars.

6 — Relationships and love are extremely important to these people. They are nurtures, service-oriented and responsible individuals. They are highly focused on family, marriage and work issues. These people are big foodies! They enjoy a diverse group of friends and usually have interesting adventures.

What to buy for a “6”? Cookbooks, sports tickets, party dishes, “Best Mom” or “#1 Dad” mugs or paraphernalia is great. They would appreciate a recliner chair, sweaters, or anything with a personal or romantic touch. Work gifts are wonderful too, like insulated lunch bags and coffee mugs galore. They love heirlooms and collectibles that can be passed down. Page- a- Day calendars will make them appreciate you more every day.

7 — One would think that these people live in a land of make believe, yet they are wise and spiritual and have a metaphysical perspective. They tend to love others and trust others. They are usually fun and adventurous, loving the latest fads. They are quick to say or do something and often get themselves into trouble later.

A “7” person would appreciate technology, the latest iPhone, TV or trendy fashions. For children, it’s usually the one item that every child wants, but is difficult to find. They also love things that surprise them and make them laugh. This might be a funny T-shirt, an unexpected book that piques their metaphysical interest, a murder mystery weekend or a paintball night. Their romantic side might like a traditional paint night with wine. And don’t discount a gift certificate to the new restaurant that just opened.

8 — This person takes themselves and life, in general, very seriously. Authority, power, finance and business is their forte. They will meticulously plan and map out their life as best as they can to achieve all of their goals. They are quite reliable and loyal.

Because they would not buy one for themselves, a lottery ticket is a great gift which would make them laugh, only of course, after they have won. The latest business books, or a subscription to any of the business magazines or periodicals is a safe bet. A signed copy of a book from their favorite author would be a plus. An organizer or bath salts, or a fun, well-planned weekend away would be a gold star in their planner. An engraved Cross pen set or new luggage they would enjoy. For a child, you might want to get Legos or Lincoln Logs or a racing car set where they can build their own tracks. A dollhouse, complete with furniture, dolls, and outfits, or simply a tea party set will guarantee you a place in their heart.

9 — This person is a powerhouse that doesn’t always know when or how to stop. Most times they will be the last one to leave a party. Yet, they may also be found binge watching their favorite shows on the couch. This is a go-getter, always going somewhere. Sometimes they go off to an extreme, forgetting they need to turn around and come home to recharge.

This person can go either way with a gift. They could enjoy a gym membership or a boxed set of their favorite shows on DVD. A day at the spa is wonderful for them, as too would be an adventure of zip-lining. An all-day pass at an amusement park would be fun. You could also sign them up for a beer or wine of the month club or gift certificates to LL Bean or any outdoors shop. Anything that keeps them moving would be a great gift.
