Consider the Source

“Comey firing story contains giant contradiction” (http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/watch/comey-firing-story-contains-giant-contradiction-948782659852)

Rachel Maddow recently shared a contradiction in the James Comey firing story. Basically the media reported that Comey requested more resources and the Department of Justice denied that that had ever occurred. Stressing the importance of knowing which one was correct, Rachel Maddow admirably vowed to figure it out, noting that the two contradictions could not coexist.

With this story, on the one hand numerous media outlets are providing information from their sources, and on the other the Department of Justice, right there in the midst of the situation, is confirming the opposite.

So what is the truth?

And will fleshing out which one is fact and which one is fiction really give us the truth?

The search for the truth occurs daily, in politics, business, relationships and life. Stories have multiple contradictions and we are often left deciding what is true based upon what others tell us the truth is, especially when we are not directly related.

Perhaps, if we could consider the source, which is often not revealed in a story which we are not a part of, we could decide what the truth was. But instead, and most often, we are sometimes given one side of the situation, and then are force- fed the truth.

But is that really the truth?

· Can we believe the media, the establishment, the politicians, local leaders, our bosses, our neighbors, our relatives, and sometimes even ourselves, when we can be so easily persuaded?

· Who do we listen to and how do we know when we are getting the truth?

· Better yet, how do we determine what the truth is and where to find it and then, when we are told what the truth is, can we trust the source?

In a recent blog “Can You Handle the Truth? What is the Truth?” we simply discuss this as it relates to science, nature, the brain, and life. We surmise: “The question is no longer can we handle the truth, but can we comprehend the truth?”

In “Energetic Invocations: A Book of Vibrational Change,” we share that: “Truth is found in the clear and present moment. If you are not in that moment, and not clear and present, then truth is not with you.” (page 147)

And we reveal that: “We spend a predominant amount of our lives searching for the truth, so it would stand to reason that most of our lives are filled with untruths since we are searching for what we do not have.” (page 147)

As our attention determines our focus, and then our opinions, motivations and actions, answers to “why?” and “how?” become our fascinations. So when something doesn’t make sense we emphatically search for stories, facts, corroborations, motives, intent and eventually our gut feelings, if we can gain some clarity, to decide what is true.

Yet, the universe is filled with duality. Something is true so then something is also false. With this pairing in nature, big exists with small, short with tall, fat with thin, etc. Only within the space between do we find any relief and some kind of middle way. Perhaps, this is the only truth.

Within politics, there are people and relationships, opinions and judgments, facts and fiction. Unfortunately, we can all be persuaded of what to believe, without even knowing that persuasion is occurring.

In “Donald J. Trump: Do you stand with him? Who does he stand with? The Science and Energy Behind Trump,” we share that: “Science notes that perception is more defined when the background contrasts with what is being seen.” (page 23)

In living our lives with certain beliefs, values and ideas in the background of everything we do, we tint our vision with the distraction of those ideas. Most of us live with an initial negative view and weave that throughout our interactions and life.

In doing this, we are prime real estate for the elements of persuasion. Yet, if we ask ourselves what is in our background, what we are using to contrast it and what our perception is, we can start to see our real truth.

Perhaps then we can access the clarity of our gut feelings in order to comprehend the real truth of what others are projecting to us.

Now more than ever, it is important to consider the source because in this day and age, the truth is hard to come by. Because of that we, ourselves, are the only ones qualified to look for our answers. And in doing that we can gain some kind of clarity to reconnect with our gut feelings and determine our truth.
